Aylmer, Henry, 2nd Baron Aylmer of Balrath (1694 -1754)

Henry Aylmer was the only son of Matthew Aylmer, 1st Baron Aylmer of Balrath, and Sarah, daughter of Edward Ellis, of London. His father was a distinguished naval officer of the reign of James II, joined William III at the revolution and rose to be Commander in Chief of the Fleet. Henry Aylmer married, in June 1716, Elizabeth, daughter of Henry Priestman, commander of the navy under William III, succeeded his father in 1720, and entered Parliament as Member for Rye 1722 1727. He was an Equerry, and one of the commissioners for the Master of the Horse for George I from 1714 to 1727 and Comptroller of the Mint 1727 1754.
