Bridgeman, Richard -1742)

Richard Bridgeman, of Combes Hall, Suffolk, was the fifth son of John Bridgeman D.D., Bishop of Chester (1577 1652) and Elizabeth Helyar, daughter of Dr Helyar, Canon of Exeter, and Archdeacon of Barnstaple. He married Katherine Watson, and they had a son, William, who became Secretary to the Admiralty, and Clerk to the Privy Council. Richard Bridgeman's widow sold his library 3 February 1743 after his death.
