Brownlow, Marian, Viscountess Alford (1817 -1888)

Marian Margaret Compton, daughter of Spencer Joshua Alwyne Compton 2nd Marquess of Northampton, and Margaret, daughter of Major General Douglas Maclean Clephane of Torloisk, married 10 February 1841, John Hume Brownlow, Viscount Alford, eldest son of John, 1st Earl Brownlow. Her husband who was born 15 October 1812 was Colonel of the North Lincoln Militia. He assumed by Royal Licence the surname and arms of Egerton. They had two sons. Viscount Alford died during the lifetime of his father 3 January 1851. The Viscountess survived until 8 February 1888.
