Coke, Theophila, Lady (1596 -1643)

Theophyla Lady Coke was the only daughter of Thomas Berkeley, son of Henry 7th Lord Berkeley, and Catherine Howard, third daughter of Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey. She married Sir Robert Coke, son of Sir Edward Coke, Lord Chief Justice, and Bridget Paston. Sir Robert is mentioned in the diary of Samuel Pepys for 30 May 1688, and it is possible that his wife Elizabeth is the `Eliza: Pepys' whose name appears on the titlepage.
