Dawson, Thomas Vesey (1819 -1854)

Lt.-Col. Hon. Thomas Vesey Dawson was the younger son of Richard Thomas Dawson, 2nd Baron Cremorne and Anne Elizabeth Emily Whaley. He married Hon. Augusta Frederica Annie FitzPatrick Wilson, daughter of John Wilson, 1st Lord Castletown, on 30 January 1851. He reached the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Coldstream Guards, and fought in the Battle of Inkerman during the Crimean War on 5 November 1854 where he was killed in action. It is possible that the stamp belonged to Richard Thomas Dawson, 2nd Baron Cremorne (1788–1827)
