De Trafford, Humphrey, Sir, 2nd Baronet (1808 -1886)

Sir Humphrey De Trafford, 2nd Baronet, of Trafford Park, Lancashire, was the eldest son of Sir Thomas Joseph De Trafford, who was created a Baronet 7 September 1841, and Laura Anne, daughter and heiress of Francis Colman. Educated at Oscott, he received a cornet's commission in the 1st Dragoons 17 August 1826, was promoted Lieutenant 27 October 1829, and sold out 27 January 1832. He succeeded his father in 1852. He married, 17 January 1855, Mary Annette, daughter of Charles Thomas Talbot, and elder sister and coheir of Bertram Arthur Talbot, 17th Earl of Shrewsbury. He was High Sheriff of Lancashire in 1862, and Master of the Trafford Harriers from 1872 to his death. A few of his books were sold in a mixed sale at Sotheby's 19 June 1906.
