Herbert, Catherine, Countess of Pembroke (1783 -1856)

Catherine Herbert was the only daughter of Simon Romanovitch, 3rd Count Woronzow, G.C.B., for many years Russian Ambassador at the Court of St James. She married in 1808, as his second wife, George Augustus Herbert, 11th Earl of Pembroke, and 8th Earl of Montgomery (1759 1827). They had a son, Sydney, a distinguished politician who was created Baron Herbert of Lea 15 January 1861, and five daughters. There were sales of Pembroke books at Sotheby's 25 June 1914 and 15 March 1920.
