Mansell, Thomas, Sir, 1st Baronet (1556 -1631)

Thomas Mansell or Maunsell of Margam in Glamorganshire was the son and heir of Sir Edward Mansell and Jane youngest daughter of Henry Somerset, 2nd Earl of Worcester. He married firstly Mary, daughter of Lewis, Lord Mordaunt at Chelsea 30 May 1582, and secondly Jane, daughter of Thomas Pole or Powell and widow of John Bussey and formerly of John Fuller of Bishop Hall Middlesex. He succeeded his father 5 August 1595, was Sheriff of Glamorganshire 1593-1594, 1603-1604 and 1622-1623, He was created a baronet 22 May 1611. Sir Thomas died 20 December 1631, and was succeeded by Sir Lewis Mansel, 2nd Baronett, his son and heir by his first wife.
