McDonnell, Hugh Seymour Kerr, 4th Earl of Antrim (1812 -1855)

Hugh Seymour Kerr was born 7 August 1817, the second but eldest surviving son of Vice Admiral Lord Mark Robert Kerr, third son of William John, 5th Marquess of Lothian, and Charlotte McDonnell, Countess of Antrim. He succeeded his mother in October 1835, and on 27 June 1836 took the name McDonnell. He married, 3 May 1836, Laura Cecilia Parker, fifth daughter of Thomas, 5th Earl of Macclesfield. They had an only daughter, who married Sir Malcolm MacGregor, 4th Baronet of MacGregor. He died 19 July 1855 and the title passed to his brother Mark.
