Redwood, Thomas Boverton, Sir, 1st Baronet (1846 -1919)

Sir Thomas Boverton Redwood was the eldest son of Theophilus Redwood, of Boverton in Glamorganshire and Montague Street in London, and Charlotte Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Newborn Robert Morson of Hornsey in Middlesex. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Fellow of the Institute of Chemistry, and of the Chemical, Geological, and Royal Geographical Societies, President of the Society of Chemical Industry 1907 1908, President of the Junior Institute of Engineers 1913 1914, and of the Institute of Petroleum Technologists 1914 1915, He was also an advisor on Petroleum to the Admiralty and other Government Departments. Chevalier of the Order of Leopold, he was knighted 30 June 1905, and created a baronet 24 June 1911. He married, 17 April 1873, Mary Elizabeth, elder daughter of Frederick Letchford, of Walthamstow in Essex.
