Stuart, John, Sir, 3rd Baronet (1714 -1796)

Sir John Stuart (or Steuart) of Allanbank in Berwickshire, a Baronet of Nova Scotia, was the eldest son of Sir John Steuart, 2nd Baronet, and Margaret, daughter of John Kerr of Morriston. He became an advocate in 1737, and was Sheriff of Berwickshire in 1755 and Solicitor for the Stamp Duties in Scotland. On 9 October 1750, he married Margaret Agnes, daughter of Charles Smith of Boulogne, a wine merchant. He succeeded his father in 1753. The baronetcy became extinct in the 1840s.
