The arms granted to Sir Jonathan Raymond, Alderman of London, 11 April 1687, were “Azure an eagle displayed ermine on a chief embattled argent three pellets”, with the crest “Out of a mural coronet or a demi eagle displayed ermine beaked sable on the breast three pellets two and one”. These stamps probably belong to J. E. Raymond. A Jonathan Raymond, youngest son of Sir Jemmett Raymond of St Peter’s parish in Oxford matriculated at Pembroke College, Oxford 17 December 1723 age fifteen.
