Bayning, Anne, Viscountess Bayning of Foxley (1619 -1678)
Anne, Viscountess Bayning, was the second daughter of Paul, 1st Baron Bayning of Horkesley, and Viscount Bayning of Sudbury, and Anne, daughter of Sir Henry Glemham, of Glemham in Suffolk. She married, firstly, Henry Murray, Groom of the Bedchamber to Charles I. The title of Viscount Bayning having become extinct in 1638, on the death of her nephew, Paul Viscount Bayning, in her widowhood she was created, in 1673, Viscountess Bayning of Foxley, for the term of her life. She afterwards married Sir John Baber, M.D., Physician to King Charles II. By her first husband she had four daughters. On 20 October 1797, Charles Townshend, son of William Townshend, third son of Charles Viscount Townshend, and grandson of Anne Egerton, eldest daughter of Anne Viscountess Bayning, was created Baron Bayning of Foxley.
