Beaton, Alexander (1524 -1556)

Alexander Beaton, Archdeacon of Lothian, and Laird of Carsgonny, was the son of David Beaton, Cardinal Archbishop of St Andrews, and his concubine Marion Ogilvy, daughter of the first Lord Ogilvy of Airly. He married a Margaret Allardice. There is a copy of Dictionarium Latino-Graecum. Paris, 1554, with the signature `Alexander Betoun' on the titlepage in Aberdeen University Library, but it has been rebound.
