Bevan, Beckford (1823 -1898)

Beckford Bevan was the fourth son of Charles Bevan, of Marylebone in Middlesex, and Mary, daughter of James Johnstone, and the grandson of Sylvanus Bevan, of Fosbury in Wiltshire and Riddlesworth Hall in Norfolk. He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford, where he matriculated 26 May 1841, aged 18, and took his B.A. in 1845, and his M.A. in 1848. He was admitted to the Inner Temple in 1844, and married, 4 January 1851, Louisa Sophia Hoffman. They had a son, Algernon Beckford Bevan, and four daughters.
