Boswell, George (1534 -1596)

Master George Boswell, was the tenth and youngest son of David Boswell of Balmuto and Elizabeth Moncrieff. Parson of Auchterderran in west Perthshire, in 1561, he also had Kinglassie and Leslie in his charge in 1574. He was infeft with his wife Isobel, daughter of Robert Sibbald of Letham, in half the land of Balgregie in 1586. Author of a genealogical account of his family, he was a `man of great knowledge and piety'.
