Broughton, Urban Huttlestone Rogers, Baron Fairhaven (1896 -1966)

Urban Huttleston Rogers Broughton was the son of Urban Hanlon Broughton of Park Close, Engelsfield Green, Surrey, and Cara Leland daughter of Henry Huttleston Rogers of New York. His father was Member of Parliament for Preston in Lancashire, and was to have been elevated to the peerage when he died January 30th 1929. His son, who had been a Lieutenant in the Life Guards and served in the 1st World War, retired in 1924, and was created Baron Fairhaven in place of his father. The Fairhaven Library was sold at Christie's 8 July 1959 and 1960.
