William Cludde, of Orleton Hall, in Shropshire, married Martha, daughter and heir of Peter Langley of Burcot. High Sheriff of Shropshire in 1723, he left a son Edward, who never married, and was succeeded by his nephew, Edward Pemberton, of Wrockwardine in Shropshire, who was a son of Edward Pemberton and Edward's only sister Martha. He married in 1781, Anne Maria, daughter of Edward Jeffreys, of Shrewsbury, and assumed by Act of Parliament the name and arms of Cludde in place of his own. He died 25 August 1829, leaving, with other issue, an eldest son, Edward Cludde of Orleton and Wrockwardine in Shropshire. He married, 6 May 1828, Catherine Harriett, only daughter of Lieutenant General Sir William Cockburn, 6th Baronet, and his first wife, Eliza Anne, daughter of Colonel Henry Frederick Creutzer, of Mannheim in Germany. Their only daughter and heir, Anna Maria Cludde, married, 22 June 1854, the Honourable Robert Charles Herbert, fourth son of Edward, 2nd Earl Powis, Barrister at law, and Chancellor of the Lichfield Diocese. She died 13 March 1906, and Orleton Hall passed to their granddaughter Phyllis Hedworth Camilla Herbert and her husband, Martin Drummond Vesey Holt.
