Douglas, Frances, Baroness Douglas (1750 -1817)

Lady Frances Scott was the daughter of Francis, Earl of Dalkeith, elder son of Francis, 2nd Duke of Buccleugh, and Lady Caroline Campbell, eldest daughter of John, Duke of Argyll and Greenwich. She married, 13 May 1783, as his second wife, Archibald Douglas, formerly Stewart, the second son of Sir John Stewart, Baronet of Grandtully, and Lady Jane Douglas, daughter and heiress of the last Duke of Douglas. Her husband was created Baron Douglas of Douglas Castle in the peerage of Great Britain 9 July 1790. The title became extinct in 1857.
