Fischar, Thomas -1625)

Thomas Fischar, Merchant of Edinburgh was the son of William Fischar, Merchant of Edinburgh. He was made Burgess and Guild Brother 24 May 1583, as son of William, who was admitted Burgess and Guild Brother, in right of his father John, 9 April 1538. An elder brother, William, was also made a Burgess and Guild Brother. Thomas was a Town Councillor of Edinburgh from the beginning of 1586 until the end of 1610, and was several times Baillie, the first time in 1588 1589. He was one of the Town's two Commissioners to Parliament in 1600, and many times represented the Town, on one occasion travelling to London to do so. He married Christian Hume in Edinburgh on 2 January 1611. His will was proved 3 December 1625.
