Fitzmaurice, William, 2nd Earl of Kerry (1694 -1747)

Probably the stamp of William Fitzmaurice 2nd Earl of Kerry. Born 2 March 1694, he was the eldest son of Thomas 1st Earl of Kerry, and Anne, only daughter of Sir William Petty, and elder brother of John Petty Fitzmaurice, 1st Earl of Shelburne. He was Governor of Ross Castle and Colonel of the Coldstream Guards. He married, firstly, in 1730 Mrs Elizabeth Leeson. She died in 1736 and his Lordship married secondly Gertrude Lambert, daughter of the 4th Earl of Cavan. He died 4 April 1747 and was succeeded by his only son Francis Thomas Fitzmaurice, 3rd Earl.
