Grant, Gregory (1726 -1803)

Probably the crest of Gregory Grant, Edinburgh physician, and founder of Grantown Hospital.  He was born at Cromdale Strathspey and inherited Auchernack from his uncle Duncan Grant, becoming head of the clan Allan and family of Grant of Auchernack. Twice married, firstly to Sarah Lombe, secondly to Mary Grant, daughter of Sir Archibald Grant of Moneymusk, 2nd Baronet, founder of Archiestown and Anne Potts, in 1764.
