Killigrew, William, Sir (1579 -1622)
Sir William Killigrew was the fifth son of John Killigrew, of Arwennack, and Elizabeth Trewennard. He was Groom of the Privy Chamber to Queen Elizabeth, and was given a patent to farm the profits of the Queen's Bench and the Court of Common Pleas. He was Member of Parliament for Helston in Cornwall 1572, for Penrhyn in 1584, and for the County of Cornwall in 1597. He was knighted by James I at Theobalds 7 May 1603. He sat for Liskeard in Parliament in 1604 and 1614, and served as Chamberlain of the Exchequer 1605 1606. He married Margaret, daughter of Thomas Saunders of Uxbridge in Middlesex.
