Lang, Charles Porcher (1806 -1842)

Charles Porcher Lang was the son of Robert Lang, and Mary Francklyn. He married Elizabeth (or Eliza) Owen, the daughter of Sir John Owen, and Charlotte Phillips. Together they had four children. Charles was a West India merchant, and a slave-owner. He is listed as a fellow of the Zoological Society in June 1831.
Charles’s library was sold at auction by R. H. T. & C. Evans on 3 November 1843: Catalogue of the Curious and Valuable Library of Charles Porcher Lang Esq. … which will be sold by auction by Messrs Evans No. 93 Pall Mall on Friday, November 3, and three following days (Sunday excepted) (London: W. Nichol, 1843).
