Leslie, James, 2nd Count Leslie and Baron de Balquhane -1694)

James Leslie was the second but eldest surviving son of Alexander Leslie of Balquhane, and Jean, daughter of James Elphinstone of Glack. As a youth he joined his uncle the celebrated Count Walter Leslie in Germany, and succeeded to his uncle's rank and estate. He became Field Marshal and Generalissimo of the Imperial Forces and Imperial Chamberlain. He married Maria Theresa, daughter of Charles Eusebius Prince Liechtenstein in 1667, but died sine prole in 1694.
