John Morton Junior was perhaps the son of John Morton Rector of Oxenden. In 1714 he was admitted a sizar at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, which had also been his father’s college. He matriculated that year, took his B.A. in 1718 and his M.A. in 1721. He was ordained Deacon in the Diocese of Peterborough 7 June 1718, and priest 20 September 1719. Curate of Oxenden, and afterwards of Staniack, he died and was buried there 19 May 1724.
