Paton, Hugh (1806 -1863)

Hugh Paton was an Edinburgh carver and gilder, who bought the plates of John Kay's caricatures and published them as Kay's Edinburgh portraits. His arms were recorded in the Lyon Register between 1672 and 1677 as the arms of Patton of Ferrochie. However, the crest is recorded as being a sparrow hawk, wings expanded proper.
