Pauncefort-Duncombe, Philip Duncombe, Sir, 1st Baronet (1818 -1890)
Sir Philip Duncombe Pauncefort Duncombe, 1st Baronet, of Great Brickhill Manor, Buckinghamshire, was the only son of Philip Duncombe Pauncefort Duncombe and Alicia Margaretta Hockmore Lambart, daughter of Richard, 7th Earl of Cavan. His father took the additional name of Duncombe after that of Pauncefort 29 July 1805. He was educated at Eton and Christ Church, Oxford, where he took his B.A. in 1840. He married, 1 May 1844, Sophia Caroline, youngest daughter of Colonel Thomas Philip Maunsell, of Thorpe Malsor in Northamptonshire. A Justice of the Peace and Deputy Lieutenant for Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire, and High Sheriff for Buckinghamshire in 1855, he was created a Baronet 25 May 1859. The library of Sir Philip Duncombe, 2nd Baronet was sold at Sotheby's 1 March 1921 with other properties, and about thirty lots of that of Sir Everard Duncombe, 3rd Baronet in a mixed sale at Sotheby's 18 June 1957.
