Pleydell-Bouverie, Helen Matilda (1846 -1929)
Helen Chaplin was born at Ryhall, Rutland, daughter of Reverend Henry Chaplin, and Caroline Horatia Ellice Chaplin.
On 19 June 1866 she married William Pleydell-Bouverie, who subsequently became 5tth Earl of Radnor in 1889. They had two sons and a daughter.
In 1927 she published memoirs entitled From a great-grandmother’s armchair, which provides insights into her own life, and the creation of her own string orchestra to which she was greatly devoted. She was also a keen member of the British Israeli Movement and the lost tribes of Israel, from which she believed the British people were descended
