Smyth, John (1748 -1811)

John Smyth of Heath Hall in Yorkshire, was the only child of John Smith of Heath Hall, and Bridget, daughter and heir of Benjamin Foxley of London. He was Member of Parliament for Pontefract for twenty five years, a Privy Councillor, a Lord of the Treasury and Master of the Mint. He married, 4 June 1778, Georgiana Fitzroy, eldest daughter of the 3rd Duke of Grafton. Books from his library were sold in London in 1935.
