Tennant, William (1805 -1848)
William Tennant, of Little Aston Hall, Shenstone, Staffordshire, was the elder son of William Tennant of Little Aston Hall, and Maria Charlotte Anderson Pelham, daughter of Charles, 1st Lord Yarborough. He was educated at Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford, where he matriculated 22 October 1801, aged eighteen, and was created an M.A., 14 March 1804. He succeeded his father in 1835. He died unmarried in 1848, and was succeeded by his second brother, Charles Edward Tennant, a Commander in the Royal Navy. The library was sold in London at auction by Samuel Leigh Sotheby & Co. 7 January 1850.
