Wakeman, Henry Offley (1852 -1899)

Henry Offley Wakeman was the younger son of Sir Offley Penbury Wakeman, 2nd Baronet, and Mary, only daughter of Thomas Adlington, of Bradenham in Norfolk, and grandson of Sir Henry Wakeman, 1st Baronet and his second wife, Sarah, daughter and heir of Richard Ward Offley of Hinton and Rorrington in Shropshire. He was educated at Eton and Christ Church, Oxford, taking first class honours in Modern History in 1873. He became a barrister, Tutor and Bursar of Keble College, Fellow and Bursar of All Souls College. He married, 16 August 1898, Violet Mary, second daughter of Frances J. Johnston.
