The arms Argent on a bend cotised sable between two garbs gules three crosses patty argent with the crest and motto as in the stamp were granted to Colonel Walter Whitefoord (Lyon Register entry between 1672 and 1677). ‘The three crosses pattée, (being of the form of those that adorn the Scots crown) were added by order of King Charles II.
