Wood, Andrew (1560 -1630)
Andrew Wood of Largo (not the famous admiral) married Lady Jean Drummond, of Maderty, 23 May 1606. It was through the marriage of her father, Lord James Drummond, of Maderty (1566-1623), to Lady Jean Chisholm of Cromlix (d. 1589), that Lord Drummond came into possession of Innerpeffray. The library at Innerpeffray began its life as the first public library in Scotland in 1680. Its foundation collection included the books that one belonged to Andrew Wood.
There are conflcting results concerning Wood's dates. One source gives 1558-1637 as his dates; another gives 1560-1630.
