Agar-Ellis, Leopold George Frederick, 5th Viscount Clifden (1829 -1899)

Leopold George Frederick was the second son of George James Welbore Agar-Ellis Baron Dover and Georgiana Howard daughter of George 6th Earl of Carlisle. Born 13 May 1829 and educated at Trinity College Cambridge, where he took his M.A. in 1852 and at the Inner Temple where he was called to the bar in 1854. Member of Parliament for Kilkenny 1857-1874, he married, 8 February 1864, Harriet daughter of Thomas Stonor Lord Camoys. They had no issue and on his death in September 1899, the title passed to a cousin.
