Anson, Thomas George, 2nd Earl of Lichfield (1825 -1892)

The eldest son of Thomas William Anson, 1st Earl of Lichfield, and his wife Louisa Catherine (née Philips), Thomas George was known as Viscount Anson from 1831 to 1854. He was M.P. for Lichfield from 1847 until 1854 when he succeeded his father to become the 2nd Earl of Lichfield, and took his place in the House of Lords. Lord Lichfield married Lady Harriett Georgiana Louisa, daughter of James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Abercorn, in 1855, and had nine sons and four daughters. From 1863 to 1871 he served as Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire.
