Baskerfeild, Thomas (1752 -1816)

Thomas Baskerfeild F.S.A. was the only son of Thomas Baskerfeild from a Bedfordshire family. The father was in business, in partnership with Sir Richard Glyn, as an oilman at the corner of Hatton Garden. Thomas jun. who went to Charterhouse was able to live comfortably on his father's fortune, marrying, in 1808, Sophia, daughter of Daniel Burr of Ramsey in Essex. His library was sold at Sotheby's on the 13th November 1817, the sale taking seven days and realising £1,426.
