Bennet, John (1658 -1686)

John Bennet was the son of John Bennet, gentleman of Westminster. He was educated at Westminster School, matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford 20 October 1676, taking his B.A. in 1680 and his M.A. in 1683. Before taking his M.A. he published Constantius apostate, an answer to Samuel Johnson's Julian the Apostate. He died 6 October 1686 and is buried in Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford.
