Brassey, Henry N/A

Henry Brassey belonged to a cadet branch of the family of Brassey or Bressey, of Bulkeley in Cheshire. The only Henry in the Visitations of Cheshire of 1580 and 1613 was the third son of John Bressey of Tiverton. The arms of Bressey of Bulkeley in 1580 are given as Quarterly 1. Quarterly per fess indented sable and argent in the first quarter a mallard sable billed gules (Bressey) 2. Gules a dexter hand couped and erect in chief three mullets argent (unidentified) 3. Sable a chevron between three bulls heads caboshed argent (Bulkeley) 4. Argent on a chevron sable three trefoils argent (Brett?). From the position of the second quarter in the Visitation it would seem to be for Hadley.
