Cheney, Edward (1803 -1886)

Edward Cheney, of Badger Hall, near Shiffnal, in Shropshire was the second son of Lieutenant General Robert Cheney of Langley in Derbyshire, and Harriet, youngest daughter of Ralph Carr Esq., of Dunston Hill, County Durham. A Captain in the Army, he succeeded his elder brother Robert in 1866. He never married, and at his death Badger Hall passed to his nephew, Alfred Capel Cure, second son of his elder sister Frederica and Capel Cure Esq., of Blake Hall, in Essex. His library was sold at Sotheby, Wilkinson & Hodge 25 June 1886.
