Chitting, Henry (1580 -1638)

Henry Chitting, the genealogist, was a native of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. He was appointed Chester Herald 18 July 1618 and carried out the visitations of Berkshire and Gloucestershire in 1623, and of Lincolnshire and Derbyshire in 1634. He wrote an Extinct Baronage, and a Tenures of Suffolk, which exist only in manuscript.
