De Burgo, John Allan -1839)

The arms, crest and motto are those of De Burgo, a branch of the De Burgh family of the Earl of Clanricarde. Possibly Ulick de Burgh, 14th and 2nd Earl of Clanricarde, 1st Marquess of Clanricarde (1802–1874). But in the absence of an earl’s coronet, the most likely candidate is Sir John Allan de Burgo, 3rd Baronet (d. 1839). [see his bookplate Franks 8323]
