Donning, Strafford (1906 -1985)

Strafford Donning was born 21 September 1906 on Merseyside. He owned a successful fruit company in Liverpool, which he eventually sold for £100,000. An expert on orchids, he had the oncidium Strafford Donning named in his honour. He was a member of the Liverpool Athenaeum. On 27 February 1985 he died at his home in Birkenhead.
