Forbes, George, 6th Earl of Granard (1760 -1837)

George, 6th Earl of Granard was born 14 June 1760, the son of George, 5th Earl of Granard, and his first wife, Dorothea daughter of Sir Nicholas Bayly Baronet. He married, 10 May 1779, Selina Frances Rawdon, fourth daughter of the 1st Earl of Moira. He succeeded his father 16 April 1780. He was a General in the Army, and Clerk of the Crown and Hanaper in Ireland. On the 24 February 1806, he was created a peer of the United Kingdom as Baron Granard of Castle Donnington. He died at Paris 9 June 1837, and was succeeded by his grandson George Arthur Hastings 7th Earl.
