Fry, John Doyle (1840 -1907)

John Doyle Fry, of Hadley Hurst, was the fourth son of Francis Fry, of the Tower House, Cotham, Bristol, and Matilda, daughter of Daniel Penrose of Brittas, County Wicklow. He married, 24 February 1870, Ellen, daughter of Edmund Pace. He extra illustrated a number of historical and biographical works, some of which have this stamp on their bindings. Books from his library were sold at Sotheby’s in London, 31 July-3 August 1922, and 1-3 June 1931.
