Gage, Thomas, Sir, 7th Baronet, of Hengrave (1781 -1820)
Sir Thomas Gage, 7th Baronet of Hengrave Hall in Suffolk, was the eldest son of Sir Thomas Gage, 6th Baronet, and his first wife Charlotte, daughter of Thomas Fitzherbert, of Swinnerton in Staffordshire. He succeeded his father 1 December 1798. He married, 9 January 1809, Mary Anne, daughter of Valentine Browne, 1st Earl of Kenmare, and died in Rome 27 December 1820. His eldest son took the additional name of Rokewode in 1843, and the baronetcy became extinct 3 January 1872. Part of the library and manuscripts were sold after the death of Sir Thomas Rokewood Gage, 8th Baronet by Sotheby, Wilkinson & Hodge 25 June 1867, and the Culford Hall Library of Sir Thomas Gage, afterwards the property of R. B. Berens was sold by the same auctioneers 5 February 1890.
