Godfrey, Thomas (1584 -1664)

Thomas Godfrey, of Hodiford in Kent, was the second son of Thomas Godfrey, the elder, of Lydd, the eldest by his second wife Elizabeth, daughter and heir of Michael Pix, of Folkestone, and Emma, daughter and heir of Richard Strughill. He succeeded his father in the estate of Hodiford, and married, firstly, Margaret, daughter of William Lambarde, and secondly Sarah, daughter of Thomas Iles Esq of Hammersmith. He was succeeded by his son Peter, by his second wife, whose grandson, Thomas died without issue in 1699, when the estate passed to a cousin, Thomas Godfrey of Woodford Amye.
