Grant, William Patrick (1798 -1874)

William Patrick Grant, of Rothiemurchas, was the elder son of Sir John Peter Grant, of Rothiemurchas, and Jane, daughter of the Rev. Edmund Ironside, Rector of Houghton le Spring, County Durham. He was a barrister at law and Master in Chancery at Calcutta. He married Sarah Siddons, granddaughter of Mrs Siddons, the actress. He died without issue 26 May 1874 and was succeeded by his brother Sir John Peter Grant.
