Greville, Francis, 1st Earl of Warwick (1719 -1773)

Francis Greville was the only surviving son of William, 7th Baron Brooke, and Mary, daughter and coheir of the Hon. Henry Thynne. He succeeded to the Barony 28 July 1727, and married, 16 May 1742, Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Archibald Hamilton, seventh son of the 3rd Duke of Hamilton. He was created Earl Brooke 7 July 1746, and the title of Earl of Warwick of Warwick Castle failing by the death of Edward Rich, Earl of Warwick and Holland 7 September 1759, George II added the dignity of Earl of Warwick to Greville`s other honours 30 November 1759.
