Greville, Henry Richard, 3rd Earl of Warwick (1779 -1853)

Henry Richard Greville was born 29 March 1779, the elder son of George Greville, 1st Earl of Warwick, and his second wife Henrietta, daughter of Richard Vernon of Hilton in Staffordshire. He succeeded his father in 1816. He married on 21 October 1816, Lady Sarah, widow of the 3rd Baron Monson and daughter of the 2nd Earl of Mexborough, He was made a Lord in Waiting to Queen Victoria in September 1841. On his death 10 August 1853, he was succeeded by his only child George Guy Greville, 2nd Earl. A sale of his books took place at Sotheby's on 19 May 1840. This sale is described as the remaining part, so presumably there was an earlier anonymous sale or sales.
